MY DESCRIPTION

As a Marine Science major, it’s not surprising that Mar 105 is one of my favorite courses.  It’s the freshmen level course for marine science majors, and counts as a general bio credit.  This course focuses on ecology for the first half of the semester, and then transitions into evolution and learning about characteristics of marine creatures.

WHAT I DID

Through the course, there was a lot of note taking, but discussion and questions are strongly encouraged during the class.  Unit tests are taken at the end of each unit, but there we didn’t take any quizzes.  Sometimes, there would be readings to do outside of class, but those were infrequent.  There was one main project that we presented during class that was done on our own time, and done in small groups.
