Individualized Error

One of the common mistakes that I tend to make while writing a lot is excessive use of commas, as well as compound sentences.  A lot of the time, my sentences will string on for a while, when they can be split up into at least 2, if not 3 or 4 smaller, more concise, and easier to understand sentences.  To help address this, and to lower the frequency of this occurrence, I try to slow down my writing.  I re-read paragraphs once I complete them to make sure they flow, but also so they don’t ramble on needlessly.  Sometimes it’s good to combine sentences, but the problem I have is that I combine too many, making my writing seem chaotic and sometimes senseless.  By reading carefully through the writing, the chances of this issue occurring in a final copy of my writing is small.
