Gee states 2 theorems in his writings. The first one is that you can’t be somewhat in a Discourse. You may see it, and you may interact with it, but you can’t be partially in it. It’s easy to create Discourse with a group, and be a part of it, but it’s hard to enter a Discourse, because there is no in between step between being in a Discourse and being outside of it. The second theorem is that all primary discourses are very limited. Someone can’t have very much Discourse with many people, and understand them, be a part of their group, if they only have their primary Discourse. People need to branch out, enter more Discourse, to fully understand and communicate with people.
