Primary Discourse is very limited. Since primary Discourse is only shared among generational immediate family, it would be difficult to interact or understand anyone besides your family. Because of this, people are almost required to adopt multiple secondary Discourses in order to interact with other people.
Connection to Cuddy – saying that you can’t teach anyone a method of communication. You can show them by example, but you can’t teach them how to use a specific Discourse.
It is impossible to tell how good you are at something without a comparison. Most of the time, before looking back, or watching someone doing something new, you can’t properly distinguish how good you really good you are at something.
There are some ways of faking being in a Discourse without being a part of it, but you can’t really be a part of it until you know all the little nuances of the discourse, and use them properly.
